Veolia, in partnership with Clean Earth, is seeking a Plant Lab Pack Chemist I at 500 Medco Rd, Birmingham, AL 35217 to perform hazardous waste packaging, labeling, and shipment preparation in a safety‑minded environment.

The role emphasizes strict adherence to Lab Pack policies and regulatory requirements, with opportunities to assist multiple groups and to mentor new staff during on-site services and daily operations.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in science field or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of chemistry fundamentals.
• EPA and DOT knowledge required.
• Clean driving record; occasional travel.
• Minimum 1 year Lab Pack experience.

Responsibilities

• Handle hazardous materials including inventory, identification, segregation and packaging.
• Occasionally perform on-site services such as waste collection and sampling.
• Prepare shipments of packaged waste with proper labeling and documentation.
• Complete documentation including shipping papers and regulations.
• Mentor new employees in lab pack duties.
