Job summary

Abzena is seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Technician on a contract basis. The role focuses on maintaining a clean, organized lab, managing glassware and inventory, ensuring safety stock, and maintaining logbooks.

The technician will coordinate with facilities for instrument issues and support weekly safety inspections. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, with 3+ years of lab experience and familiarity with safety practices, chemical handling, and waste disposal.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field preferred.
• 3+ years experience in a laboratory, clinical, or scientific environment.
• Familiarity with laboratory safety practices, chemical handling, and waste disposal procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organized laboratory environment and manage glassware cleaning.
• Oversee reagent and consumable inventory; maintain minimum/maximum safety stock levels.
• Review and maintain laboratory logbooks for equipment usage, maintenance, calibration, and inventory.
• Conduct weekly safety and equipment inspections; coordinate with facilities staff on instrument issues.
• Coordinate instrument maintenance, calibration, and repairs with vendors or facilities staff.
