Job summary

University of Central Florida invites applications for a Research Operations Specialist overseeing lab and shop operations tied to low-carbon methanol R&D. Based at M2X Energy in Rockledge, FL, you will ensure safe, efficient, well-documented operations and enable pilot-scale gas-to-methanol testing.

You will work with researchers, engineers, and partners to maintain documentation, safety compliance, and continuous improvement across laboratory and shop environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and at least three years of experience in chemical laboratory and engineering environments.
• Pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6), equivalency of education and experience may apply.
• Experience with chemical inventory, hazardous waste handling, and lab procurement is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee laboratory operations and safety systems in a lab/shop environment.
• Manage chemical inventory, hazardous waste storage, and documentation.
• Coordinate compressed gas cylinder logistics and supplier communications.
• Assist fabrication and maintenance of pilot-scale setups and equipment.
• Maintain SOPs and laboratory records; support onboarding and training of staff and interns.
