Job summary

The University of Houston System is seeking a Laboratory Coordinator in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering Technology to manage daily lab operations, coordinate preparations, and ensure efficient use of shared lab resources between classrooms and research labs.

You will supervise student workers, oversee safety compliance, procure and maintain equipment, manage budgets, and provide technical and instructional support, including specialized classroom instruction as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of related experience.
  • Associate's degree in an Engineering discipline with 10+ years of related experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of related job experience.

Description:

Job Summary

The Coordinator, Laboratory coordinates the lab preparations and daily operations of assigned labs, and coordinates common lab supply usages between classrooms and research labs.

Duties
  • Provides technical and instructional support.

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree with (3) years of job related experience
  • Associate's degree in an Engineering discipline with ten (10) years of related experience

Work Location and Physical Demands

Primary Work Location:

  • Works in some or all of the following environments during the working day; an office (2 to 4 hours); a science laboratory (6 to 8 hours); a classroom, training room, or auditorium (2 to 4 hours).

Physical Demands:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements Individual has discretion in relation to walking, standing etc., and has minimal exposure to physical risks. Occasional lifting, pushing, climbing, and pulling may be required.
