Job summary

University of Houston seeks a Katy Laboratory Manager for a one-year Advancement in Duty appointment from January 1, 2027 to December 31, 2027. The role supports expansion of ECE/CEA activities at the Katy campus, coordinating two new labs, managing equipment, inventory, access, and safety procedures.

Responsibilities include assisting faculty and students with instructional and capstone activities, coordinating specialized equipment for robotics, IoT, PCB design, and data analytics, and

Qualifications

• One year of directly job-related experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Plans and develops procedures for administering a large department or program.
• Manages fiscal activities, including procurement and budget analysis.
• Provides guidance to subordinate staff and evaluates performance.
• Prepares abstracts, research reports, funding proposals, operations and procedure manuals, and other written material and documentation.
• Creates and reviews reports of expenditures and activities.
• May administer grants and grant-related communications, scholarships and other operations.
• Develops, implements and maintains appropriate policies and procedures.
• May serve as property custodian for the department.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
