Job summary

Hoya in Lithia Springs, GA, seeks a Lab General Manager to lead the Atlanta Lab's operations, overseeing production processes, quality and continuous improvement. You will drive safety, maintenance, and administration while managing the lab budget and profitability, directing through the lab supervisor and group leads.

You will build a cohesive team, collaborate with labs nationwide, partner with Customer Service and other business teams to meet customer needs, and deliver high-quality products

Qualifications

• 10+ years progressive management experience in a custom made-to-order manufacturing environment
• 10+ years demonstrated excellent customer relations; direct customer relationship experience required
• 5+ years of managing exempt supervisory staff; demonstrated excellent employee relations required
• 5+ years direct P&L accountability required
• Demonstrated abilities with successful implementation of manufacturing methods and processes

Responsibilities

• Leads by example, customer satisfaction, and partnerships with labs nationwide to deliver top quality product with fast turnaround times
• Champions continuous improvement and drives efficiency
• Delivers against budgets, forecasts and profit targets; controls capital, operating expenditures, staffing, and labor costs
• Optimizes workflow by leveraging operation knowledge and staff capabilities
• Sets clear performance objectives tied to lab performance in service, quality, productivity and growth
• Fosters teamwork, empowerment, and open communication; implements best practices and training
• Develops organization and people; aligns rewards and development with business value
• Reviews DVI reports, audits, spoilage, and indicators to identify root causes of quality or production issues
• Completes performance reviews and salary revisions
• Plans and directs employee training to stay abreast of new product introductions
• Responds to customer complaints and concerns as appropriate
• May be assigned other duties by Regional VP
