Tailored Management in Wilmington, MA seeks a detail-oriented Lab Support Specialist to uphold daily lab operations, manage chemical inventories, and coordinate procurement. The role supports NGS library prep workflows and requires a science background with some lab experience.

The opportunity involves organizing the lab, coordinating safety procedures, and working with vendors and internal teams to ensure smooth operations and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a science-related field.
• Laboratory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with laboratory supplies, equipment maintenance, chemical inventory, or safety practices is a plus.
• Strong organizational and communication skills and ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly laboratory organization meetings and communicate updates.
• Coordinate site visits to the Wilmington Lab 360 facility.
• Manage laboratory coat inventory and related logistics.
• Coordinate waste streams and waste pickups.
• Maintain chemical inventory and intake of new chemicals.
• Follow lab safety procedures and chemical-handling protocols.
• Place, track, and receive orders for lab supplies and consumables.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers.
• Coordinate vendor visits, service appointments, and procurement contracts.
• Coordinate new equipment acquisitions and CapEx purchases.
• Oversee preventive maintenance and calibration schedules.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues with vendors or support teams.
• Maintain maintenance documentation for equipment.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments of supplies and equipment.
• Learn NGS library preparation workflows and assist with manual testing as trained.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical Science, or another science-related field
