Water is seeking a Lab Office Assistant to perform varied clerical tasks with heavy data entry in a healthcare setting. The role supports the lab team, handles patients and physicians’ communications, and ensures accurate transcription of pathology details and final reports.

The position emphasizes independent work when needed, familiarity with lab workflows, and courteous interaction with customers. Regular hours are 5:30am-2:00pm, with potential overtime as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; prior office experience in a laboratory or medical setting preferred.
• Ability to work independently while seeking help as needed.
• Familiarity with lab protocol and procedures; proficient in using relevant technology and systems.

Responsibilities

• Transcription of pathology details and entering of final reports.
• Answers telephones, routes callers and takes messages.
• Interacts with Physicians’ Offices regarding pathology requisition forms.
• Tracks and orders inventory and gross room supplies; ships and receives packages.
• Performs computer entry and handles specimens.
• Assists in specimen accessioning when needed.
• Works well in a team environment and communicates professionally with patients and customers.
