Job summary

EPAM Systems in Boulder seeks a hands-on Mechatronics/Automation Specialist to support hardware automation test benches and robotic fixtures in a lab environment. You will build, wire, maintain, and troubleshoot electromechanical stations, interfacing with Python automation scripts to run tests and isolate failures.

The role requires operating collaborative robotic arms, wiring and fixturing, and strong fault diagnosis across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating collaborative or industrial robotic arms for data capture.
• Electromechanical fixturing and wiring experience.
• Confidence using benchtop diagnostic tools: multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes.
• Working proficiency in Python for hardware interfacing.
• Strong systematic troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.
• Excellent attention to detail in data labeling/logging and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Operate collaborative/industrial robotic arms to collect motion and sensor data.
• Assemble and maintain electromechanical test setups with cabling and sensors.
• Use multimeters, power supplies, and oscilloscopes to diagnose faults.
• Read and modify Python scripts for hardware control and data collection.
• Triages failures across mechanical, electrical, and software layers.
• Label and log data runs with high accuracy.
• Provide daily status reports on stations and blockers.
