Job description

Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for the position of Laboratory Manager for Microbiology, Biology and Chemistry in the Department of Natural Sciences in the College of Health, Science and Technology.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  1. Set-up and break-down of laboratory activities for chemistry and microbiology, maintenance of chemistry and biology stockrooms and autoclaving microbiology lab waste. Occasionally, design new laboratory activities.
  2. Maintenance of laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
  3. Teaching lecture and/or laboratory sections of microbiology, with the possibility of teaching other BIO courses/labs.
  • Candidates must be committed to the mission and identity of Concordia University Chicago. Additionally, they must profess values congruent with the teachings of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS).

Skill Sets:

Excellent communication skills (both interpersonal and written)

Minimum Experience Required: Teaching laboratories at the college level.

Education Requirements:

  • Earned Master's degree in Chemistry, Microbiology or related.
