Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent.
• 7+ years in Lab Management or Facilities Management, ideally in medical devices.
• Familiarity with GLP policies and regulatory requirements (FDA/USDA).
• Hands-on engineering inclination and precision in lab work.
• Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols and procedures.
• Ability to read floor plans/blueprints and basic electrical/mechanical knowledge.
• Experience in a quality system and documentation practices.
• Excellent written, verbal, and reporting communication.

Responsibilities

• Facilities and Lab Operations: design/setup of new lab spaces; manage electrical/HVAC/plumbing for medical device testing.
• Equipment and Inventory: install, maintain, repair equipment; keep calibration/validation schedules.
• Protocols & Safety: develop/train on lab protocols, safety procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Office and Training Coordination: coordinate trainings and procedures for offices to meet local regs.
• Engineering Support: maintain records of manuals, SDS, and maintenance logs.

SUMMARY

EchoNeurotechnologiesis developingnovel Brain Computer Interface (BCI)productsfor people living with disabilitiesto restore autonomyand improve quality of life.We are seeking an experienced Lab Manager to serve as the backbone of our hardware development environmentas well as our GLP pathology laboratory. You will wear many hats, including helpingset up lab spaces, navigating EHSand GLPcompliance,andworking across prototyping,quality, and scientificteams. This is a high-impact role perfect for someone who thrives on organization, safety, and the \"hands-on\" nature of hardware engineeringand laboratory science.

PRIMARY ROLE AND responsibilities

• Facilities and Lab Operations
  
  
  • Lead the design and setup of new lab spaces; coordinate with contractor for electrical, HVAC, and plumbing requirement specific to medical device testing.
  
  
  • Serve as the Laboratory Manager for a variety medical device studies and associated products in accordance with GLP for Nonclinical Laboratory Studies (Title 21, Part 58).
  
  
  • Act as the primary liaison with local authorities to secure necessary building, environmental, and operational permits.
  
  
  • Oversee general laboratory facility needs.
  
  
  • Keep stockrooms, cabinets, and common equipment areas clearly labeled, clean, and organized.
  
  
  • Maintain available laboratory supplies and consumables
  
  


• Equipment and Inventory Management
  
  
  • Coordinate the installation, maintenance, and repair of specialized laboratory equipment.
  
  
  • Maintain calibration and validation schedule to ensure all R&D, manufacturing, and GLP equipment meets quality and regulatory standards.
  
  


• Protocols & Safety
  
  
  • Develop, coordinate training of, adhere to, and enforce laboratory protocols and safety procedures, including chemical hygiene plans, hazardous waste disposal, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements to prevent contamination and ensure the accuracy of test results.
  
  
  • Work with Office Manager to coordinate trainings, protocols, and procedures for office areas to adhere with local regulations
  
  
  • Work closely with the Testing Facility Manager (TFM) to maintain facility compliance and mitigate issues immediately.
  
  


• Engineering Support
  
  
  • Maintain organized records of equipment manuals, safety data sheets (SDS), and maintenance logs.
  
  

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree(A.A./A.S.)or equivalent in a scientifically related discipline.

• Minimum of7years ofLab Management or Facilities Management, preferable within the medical device, biotechnology, or related industry.

• Generalawarenessof GLP policies and regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA).

• Inclination towards hands-on engineering activities.

• Broadunderstanding of laboratory safety protocols and procedures.

• Ability to read floor plans/blueprints and a basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.

• Experience working within a quality system.

• Excellent written, reporting,and verbal communication skillswith an emphasis on attention to detail.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with California FDB.

• Strong collaboration mindset.

• Must be ableto sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.

• Must be able to work withpersonsofdiverse backgrounds.

• Proficient in using Microsoft Office and Google Suite tools and applications.

• Must be highly motivated to deliver results under tight deadlines.

• Able to lift 10-25 pounds.

Salary

$110,000 — $160,000 USD
