Qualifications

  • Experience in bioskills lab, surgical training, or medical device industry preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and multi-program management abilities.
  • Supervise staff or coordinate contractors/vendors.

Responsibilities

Job description

Location: FIVE Labs Las Vegas (This position is based in Las Vegas, NV)

Summary

The Lab Manager is responsible for the successful planning and execution of programs hosted at the FIVE Labs Las Vegas facility and supported off-site locations. This includes collaborating with program sponsors, colleagues, and Account Managers to understand and document needs, and to ensure seamless orchestration and execution of each program.

The Lab Manager oversees setup, support, and teardown for all assigned programs, and manages instrumentation, equipment, specimen, and supply inventory. The Lab Manager is required to be on-site for the full duration of each assigned program to ensure that attendee and sponsor needs are fully met.

Key Duties

  • Collaborate with FIVE Labs team members to deliver consistent, high-quality programs.
  • Engage with clients to share FIVE Labs' network and capabilities, when appropriate.
  • Coordinate procurement of specimens and program materials.
  • Receive and verify specimens, ensuring all paperwork is accurate and complete.
  • Prepare specimens, instrumentation, and equipment for programs.
  • Ensure all specimens are treated with dignity and respect.
  • Maintain accurate specimen inventory and update records after each program.
  • Prepare outbound specimen shipments as required.
  • Maintain the facility in a "tour-ready" condition at all times.

General Responsibilities

  • Support overall site maintenance and management of equipment.
  • Supervise lab support staff and coordinate with AV processes and contracted equipment providers.
  • Partner with the Client Services Manager and Account Managers to exceed client expectations.

Work Schedule & Conditions

  • Full-time role with frequent weekend, early morning, and evening responsibilities.
  • Surgical environment with exposure to cadavers, odors, blood-borne pathogens, complex equipment, radiation hazards, and frequent lifting of heavy items.
  • Occasional travel required to other FIVE Labs facilities (Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles, San Diego, Tampa, and future sites).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a life science, healthcare, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience in a bioskills lab, surgical training environment, or medical device industry.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously.
  • Experience supervising staff or coordinating contractors/vendors.
  • Proficiency in handling and maintaining surgical equipment and instrumentation.
  • Working knowledge of biosafety, OSHA, and specimen handling protocols.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and AV issues during programs.
  • Comfort with travel and a flexible work schedule.
