Job summary

OSI Engineering, Inc. in Menlo Park, CA seeks an Electrical Technician to build, wire, integrate and maintain electrical and controls systems for a cutting-edge research lab focused on autonomous materials discovery. You will work hands-on with engineers and scientists in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include reading schematics, installing sensors and control hardware, troubleshooting, performing electrical calculations, ensuring safety with LOTO, and documenting changes.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a qualified electrical worker on 208V or above systems.
• Hands-on instrumentation and controls experience, including low-voltage wiring and control panel fabrication.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and build/modify equipment from drawings.
• Experience with electrical test equipment (DMMs, meters).
• Familiarity with LOTO procedures and electrical safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Build, wire, and integrate electrical control panels and lab equipment per drawings and sketches.
• Support installation and integration of sensors, valves, flow controllers, thermocouples, and related hardware.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and equipment documentation.
• Incorporate design changes and assist with electrical CAD drawings and layouts.
• Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and controls issues using testing equipment.
• Perform basic electrical calculations using standard formulas.
• Maintain drawings, BOMs, and revision records.
• Collaborate with engineers and technical teams on builds and testing.
• Follow Lockout/Tagout safety practices.
