Job summary

OSI Engineering, Inc. in San Diego, CA, is seeking a Lab Technician to join our hardware testing team. You will set up and manage large-scale hardware rack test environments for firmware projects and coordinate with firmware, software, and test automation teams to configure test rigs.

You will also manage devices and fixtures, provide in-lab support for automated testing, and help troubleshoot environment issues while documenting processes and results for cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 2 years of building and managing a lab with devices.
• Technical support experience or equivalent working knowledge in computer hardware and networking.
• Experience managing macOS and iOS devices.
• Experience automating device management using Python, bash and Ansible.
• Strong diagnosing and resolving system and user-level issues in macOS, iOS or Linux.
• A team player with good communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and manage a large-scale hardware rack testing environment for various firmware projects.
• Manage a myriad of devices and fixtures that run on these device clusters.
• Provide physical in-lab support to enable automated system testing on the racks.
• Work with the firmware and software engineering teams to set up test hardware configurations.
• Work with the test automation team to troubleshoot test environment issues.
• Work with the test automation team to improve lab automations.
