Job summary

The Stowers Institute for Medical Research is seeking a Glasswash and Lab Support Technician to sustain daily lab operations with emphasis on glassware washing, packaging, and supply handling. The role will provide support for Fly Food, the Fly Stock Facility, and Receiving as needed based on training and departmental requirements.

Responsibilities include glassware collection, washing and sterilizing, orderly work areas, and assistance with fly-related tasks and package delivery.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work independently and with scientists and staff to provide excellent customer service.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills and flexibility to adapt to changing needs.
• Ability to use Microsoft 365 applications and ServiceNow to support daily work.

Responsibilities

• Collect, sort, inventory, and deliver laboratory glassware; keep glassware cabinets organized.
• Wash, prepare, and sterilize glassware and materials using dishwashers, autoclaves, kilns, etc.
• Maintain clean workstations, carts, and shared spaces; process supply orders and service requests.
• Assist with fly food preparation, packaging, and delivery; support robotic equipment operation and fly traps.
