Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific in Massachusetts is hiring a Lab Support Specialist within Unity Lab Services. You will handle lab support operations such as glasswash, garment management, and gas/dry ice management, acting as the primary contact for lab personnel and ensuring compliance and efficiency in support activities.

A day in the life includes labware operations, gas handling, restocking, and coordinating with clients to meet material needs.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
2+ years experience with material handling required.
Good x Practice (GxP) environment or laboratory setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform labware operations including precision cleaning, inventory management and sterilization via autoclaving.
Handle gas cylinder orders and knowledge of gas meters, safely handling HAZMAT materials.
Restock used labware/materials to dedicated use points across labs.
Manage gas, garment and dry ice logistics ensuring safe storage and supply.
Collaborate with clients to understand labware/material needs and ensure stock availability.
Follow Best Practices, SOPs and Work Instructions.
Maintain inventory records and assist in tracking business metrics.
May perform other duties as assigned by management.
