Job summary

Antech is hiring for a temporary laboratory position for a 6-month period. The role involves preparing samples, running tests and releasing results across hematology, chemistry, parasitology and serology.

Expected education includes an allied medical technology degree; clinical hematology experience is preferred. The shift is overnight, with potential Saturday rotation, and benefits are available with eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples and set up instruments; run tests and release results.
• Perform tests in Parasitology, Hematology, Chemistry and Serology.
• Process and prepare samples and ensure QA guidelines followed.
• Train in Specimen Processing, Chemistry, Hematology, UA, and Coagulant per SOPs.
• Oversee entry and release of results; read UA slides as required.
• Reconcile pending lists and perform other duties as assigned.

Work Shift: 12am-8:30am Monday - Friday with rotating Saturdays

This is a temporary position lasting 6 months.

The Target Pay for this position is $23 an hour.

Job Purpose/Overview Prepares samples, sets up instruments, runs tests and reads/interprets, and releases results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Must be proficient in at least three clinical areas


• Responsible for performing tests such as Parasitology, Hematology, Chemistry and Serology


• Process and prepare samples


• Perform all required quality control per Quality Assurance guidelines


• Train in all areas to include Specimen Processing, Chemistry, Hematology, UA, and Coagulant according to all SOP’s


• Oversee the entering and releasing of results


• Read UA slides at the required rate


• Reconcile pending list


• Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• Associates/bachelor's degree in medical technology or MLT degree in related field is preferred


• Clinical laboratory experience in Hematology is preferred

Working Conditions

• Stationary Position- must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 2 hours.


• Operates a computer and other lab equipment accurately and efficiently


• Occasionally required to bend, kneel, stoop, or crouch


• Required to lift, move, and carry up to 20 lbs.


• Heavy microscopic work


• The ability to observe details at close range


• Extended hours may be needed


• Laboratory environments with potential biohazards present that are mitigated by the mandatory use of PPE


• Potential for exposure to agents known to cause zoonotic disease in humans and use of potentially hazardous chemicals as defined by the National Hazard Communication Standards. A complete list of such chemicals can be made available.
