Job summary

Antech Diagnostics is seeking a laboratory professional for off-peak hours to prepare samples, set up instruments, run tests and interpret results. The role supports multiple clinical areas and requires strong attention to detail and reliable data entry.

You will perform quality control, read slides, and release results under QA guidelines while coordinating with the team on training and cross-functional responsibilities. Equal opportunity employer and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Associates/bachelor's degree in medical technology or MLT preferred.
  • Clinical laboratory experience in hematology preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
  • Proficiency with data entry and MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tests in parasitology, hematology, chemistry and serology.
  • Process and prepare samples.
  • Oversee entry and release of results.
  • Read UA slides.
  • Perform quality control per QA guidelines.
  • Train in specimen processing, chemistry, hematology, UA, and coagulant.
  • Reconcile pending lists.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

Work Shift: Start time 12am to 2am (8 hour shift) Monday - Friday with rotating Saturdays The Target Pay for this position is $24.33 an hour. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.

Job Purpose/Overview

Prepares samples, sets up instruments, runs tests and reads/interprets, and releases results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function.   • Must be proficient in at least three clinical areas
  • Responsible for performing tests such as Parasitology, Hematology, Chemistry and Serology
  • Process and prepare samples
  • Perform all required quality control per Quality Assurance guidelines
  • Train in all areas to include Specimen Processing, Chemistry, Hematology, UA, and Coagulant according to all SOP’s
  • Oversee the entering and releasing of results
  • Read UA slides at the required rate
  • Reconcile pending list
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

Associates/bachelor's degree in medical technology or MLT degree in related field is preferred. Clinical laboratory experience in Hematology is preferred.

Working Conditions
  • Stationary Position- must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 2 hours.
  • Operates a computer and other lab equipment accurately and efficiently
  • Occasionally required to bend, kneel, stoop, or crouch
  • Required to lift, move, and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Heavy microscopic work
  • The ability to observe details at close range
  • Extended hours may be needed
  • Laboratory environments with potential biohazards present that are mitigated by the mandatory use of PPE
  • Potential for exposure to agents known to cause zoonotic disease in humans and use of potentially hazardous chemicals as defined by the National Hazard Communication Standards.
