Antech, a Mars Science & Diagnostics company, is seeking a Laboratory Generalist 1 to join our Orlando, FL team. You will receive and prepare samples, set up instruments, run tests, and interpret results to support high-quality veterinary care.

Attention to detail and accuracy are essential as you support quality control, data integrity, and collaborative lab operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; science-focused degree preferred.
Prior lab experience is advantageous and helpful for a quick start.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

Receives and prepares samples for laboratory analysis.
Performs startup and maintenance on analyzers and instruments.
Conducts quality control procedures and records results.
Enter and release results; participate in training programs.
Reconcile pending lists and assist with other duties as assigned.

Work Shift: Start time 12am-8:30am Monday - Friday with Alternating Saturdays.

The Target Pay for this position is $17.84an hour. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.

PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Laboratory Generalist 1 receives and prepares samples for laboratory analysis and tests, sets up instruments, runs tests and reads,interprets,and releases results.

Receivesand prepares samples for laboratory analysis or sends out tests
Performs startup andrequiredmaintenance onanalyzers
Perform all required quality controlperQualityAssuranceguidelines.
Traininall areas according to all Standard Operating Practices.
Enter and release results.
Participates in improving lab efficiency, quality, and cooperation
Participate in all departmental training programs.
Reconcile pending list.
Perform other duties asassigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent,2- or 4-yeardegree inscience-related fieldpreferred.
Prior lab experience preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Stationary Position- must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 2 hours.
Constantlyoperatesa computerand other lab equipment accurately and efficiently.
Occasionally required to bend, kneel, stoop, or crouch
May berequiredto lift, move, and carry up to 50 lbs.
Heavy microscopic work
The ability toobservedetails at closerange
Proficiencyin the English language which allows for participation in team meetings,accurateentry of data into company systems and understanding of written directions.
Extended hours may beneeded
Laboratoryenvironmentswith potential biohazards present that are mitigated by the mandatory use of PPE.
Work under close to moderate supervision
Potential for exposure to agents known to cause zoonotic disease in humans and use of potentially hazardous chemicals as defined by the National Hazard Communication Standards. A complete list of such chemicals is available from department supervision.
