Job summary

The Medical College of Wisconsin, Inc. is seeking a Facility Support Technician to perform sanitation and support services in laboratory animal facilities. The role includes operating cage washers and autoclaves, maintaining cages, and assisting with maintenance tasks under limited supervision.

You will monitor environments, document data, and help with training staff. Requires a High School Diploma and at least 2 years of related experience; a higher degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High School Diploma.
• Minimum experience: 2 years.
• Preferred education: Associate degree or higher.
• Appropriate experience may be substituted on equivalent basis.

Responsibilities

• Sanitize, organize, and maintain animal cages and equipment using cage washers, tunnel washers, bedding dispensers, and autoclaves.
• Perform routine maintenance and assist with troubleshooting of cage wash equipment; escalate complex issues.
• Sanitize animal rooms, cages, equipment, corridors, and support areas following established procedures.
• Monitor environment and equipment; document data and maintain records.
• Receive and process shipments from loading dock; assist with packaging and disposal of waste.
