Flagship Lab Services is seeking a Lab Support Specialist with lab experience to join our dynamic and growing division.

Working under supervision, this is an intermediate level position assigned to different operations and service departments. Performs skilled Lab Services, Maintenance, and assists with corrective work orders, preventive maintenance, and manual tasks such as moving equipment and materials.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma.
• Six months prior work experience in a related work environment, illustrating good attendance, professional behavior, reliability.
• Ability to follow orders given orally and in writing.
• Ability to complete tasks and paperwork with basic supervision.
• Computer skills (i.e., excel, word, outlook).

Responsibilities

• Monitor, clean, and maintain the following: hood traps, incubators (fill as needed), water baths.
• Assist team with content transfers in the instances of cold storage unit failures.
• Monitor and dump waste containers.
• Buffer preparation.
• Maintain LN2 Freezer Pro and Cold Storage contact records (updated annually).
• Glass wash/autoclave, stocking and replenishment of clean/sterilized materials as needed.
• Work with team to close out workspaces of former employees and prepare for inbound hires.
• Maintain service tickets in the lab equipment service system for all lab equipment needs.
• Submit and follow-through on all tickets for printer issues.
• General lab housekeeping (lab clean outs, cardboard removal, etc.).
• Process all pipettes for annual pipette calibration.
