Job summary

Sapsf is hiring an entry-level Purchase and Inventory Specialist to support procurement, inventory management, and asset handling across laboratories and storage locations. You will work with engineering and research teams to ensure items are procured timely and assets are accurately tracked and available.

The role involves hands-on tasks, shipping, and documentation, with emphasis on safety, process adherence, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Right to work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Interest or early experience in procurement, inventory management or lab/operations support.
• Comfortable working with physical equipment and maintaining accurate records.
• Basic experience using inventory systems, spreadsheets, or similar tools.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
• Willingness to follow defined processes, safety requirements, and handling procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively with technical and operational teams.
• Experience working in a laboratory, engineering, hardware, or research environment.
• Exposure to stock management activities.
• An interest in developing a career in procurement, asset management, or operations.

Responsibilities

• Procurement & Operational Support and sourcing of equipment, spare parts, and supplies through internal systems.
• Assist with purchase order tracking, invoice checks, and basic supplier coordination under guidance.
• Help raise and follow up tickets for system or process issues as required.
• Inventory & Internal Asset Management: maintain accurate records across on-site labs and external locations.
• Assist with cataloguing and tracking internal assets to ensure stock vs. system records consistency.
• Participate in monthly stock checks and identify shortages, discrepancies, or damaged items.
• Support availability of equipment to minimise disruption to day-to-day operations.
• Assist with shipping and receiving for internal transfers, including UK and USA locations.
• Prepare items for shipment with packing, labelling, and documentation per procedures.
• Support safe handling of high-value equipment and maintain organized labs and storage areas.
