Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Lab Engineer to conduct materials testing and characterization in its Global Materials Science organization. The role supports development of breakthrough packaging materials in state-of-the-art laboratories with advanced testing equipment and cross-functional collaboration.

The candidate should have 2+ years in hardware development or hands-on engineering and a relevant bachelor’s degree.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hardware development, test lab, space/aerospace maintenance or hands-on engineering environment experience.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant technical field (see above) for entry.
• Strong analytical and data recording skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hands-on materials testing using equipment including tensile testers, burst testers, tear testers, rheometers, and other materials characterization tools.
• Execute test protocols following TAPPI, ASTM, ISO, and ISTA standards as well as internal developed methods.
• Perform testing on packaging materials including paper substrates, adhesives, coatings, and alternative fiber materials.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
