Job summary

HireNetworks is seeking an Engineering Research Technician on a contract-to-hire basis in the Raleigh, NC area. You will calibrate, solder, and measure the tension of our patent-pending hardware while collecting data in a lab setting.

The role emphasizes safety, data integrity, and the ability to work with a small, growing team; some field data collection may be required. This position offers a competitive starting rate and a future benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred lab experience or field technician background.
• Able to lift 50-75 lbs regularly.
• Hands-on laboratory environment enjoyment.
• Able to stand for extended periods.
• Able to take direction well and follow experiment plans and procedures.
• Able to maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Able to maintain a neat, organized workspace in the laboratory.
• Able and willing to operate potentially hazardous equipment.
• Experience in Microsoft Office and Outlook is a must.
• Experience with hydraulic equipment is a plus.
• Experience with ultrasonic transducers is a plus.
• Experience with soldering and basic electronics maintenance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support laboratory testing and data collection.
• Work with a focus on safety and attention to detail in data acquisition.
• Will need to organize large amounts of data being captured without getting the details confused.
• Ability to care for high-value laboratory equipment and ensure proper operation.
• Ability to keep the work environment organized and clean to eliminate safety concerns.
• Ability to operate hydraulic equipment (training will be provided).
• Ability to operate ultrasonic transducers (training will be provided).
• Ability to evaluate ultrasonic waveform quality (training will be provided).
• Possible local field data collection for certain projects.
• Action-oriented and works well with challenges; drives self and others for results
• Additional duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
