Job summary

ARUP Laboratories in Salt Lake City is seeking a Lab Client Support Technician to provide technical and preanalytic support for a designated division. You will contact clients with specimen information, ensure specimen integrity and test clarification, and act as a liaison between customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Must complete and demonstrate department-specific training within 6 months.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent or better.
• Preferred: college-level courses in medical terminology, biology, communications or related life sciences.
• Call center work experience is a plus.
• Ability to type 35 WPM and 10-key skills.
• General medical laboratory experience and familiarity with LIS.
• HIPAA training and/or knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Understand appropriate collection, handling, and transportation of specimens.
• Process specimens according to department procedures; triage and store as needed.
• Evaluate specimens for acceptability and initiate problem resolution.
• Process requests for add-on testing.
• Develop proficiency with LIS including ANSR, ESP, IMS, Millennium, MasterControl, LMS, CRM, eExcept.
• Receive and initiate calls to/from customers and laboratories; provide verified results to authenticated individuals.
