Job summary

Clean Harbors El Dorado, AR invites motivated students to join our Lab Chemist Intern program for Summer 2027. This in-person internship offers hands-on exposure to metals analysis, wet chemistry, and instrumentation alongside experienced professionals within our safety-first culture.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a biology or chemistry degree at an accredited college/university.
• Experience in a laboratory setting is required or strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of wastewater, TOC, and ICP instrumentation is a plus.
• Strong interest in environmental services industry and safety culture.
• Ability to document, record, and analyze data and information.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a professional team environment.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office or other relevant tools.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long hours.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety is the top priority in all activities.
• Learn analysis of various metals, including mercury.
• Learn wet chemistry testing (chlorine and fluoride).
• Learn analysis of facility samples and instrumentation (GC, IC, ICP).
• Shadow supervisor and technician.
• Manage waste generated by analytical procedures and ensure proper documentation.
• Maintain a safe working environment compliant with OSHA regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
