Job summary

Henkel invites a Product Development Chemist Intern to work across the Adhesive Technologies R&D team in Irvine, CA from January to December 2027. The role combines hands-on lab work, formulation development for electronics, data analysis, and safety compliance, with opportunities to contribute to digital data tracking via Albert.

The ideal candidate is an undergrad or recent grad in polymer/chemistry fields, familiar with analytical instruments, and able to commute to the Irvine office.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate student (Junior or Senior) or recent graduate (Summer 2025) pursuing a degree in polymer/materials/chemistry related majors.
• Laboratory techniques in chemistry/polymer science (e.g., synthesis, characterization, titration, spectroscopy).
• Familiarity with lab safety protocols and chemical handling.
• Experience with analytical instruments (FTIR, DSC, TGA, NMR, GPC).
• Documentation and reporting of experimental results.
• Collaboration in a research or lab team environment.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience creating adhesive formulations for electronic applications in a lab setting.
• Execute designed experiments by preparing formulations and measuring key physical and chemical properties.
• Analyze and compile data from formulation testing to support product development decisions.
• Ensure compliance with lab safety guidelines and participate in 5S organizational activities.
• Support digitalization efforts by using Albert for lab data tracking and reporting.
• Collaborate with R&D team members to contribute to innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
