Job summary

Henkel invites students to join the Adhesive Technologies R&D team in Irvine as a Product Development Chemist Intern for 2027. You will gain hands-on experience formulating adhesives for electronic applications, executing experiments, analyzing data, and ensuring safety, while supporting digital lab data tracking using Albert.

Qualifications

• Undergrad student (Junior/Senior) or recent graduate (Summer 2025) pursuing a related degree.
• Laboratory techniques in chemistry/polymer science (synthesis, characterization, titration, spectroscopy).
• Familiarity with lab safety protocols and chemical handling.
• Experience with analytical instruments (FTIR, DSC, TGA, NMR, GPC).
• Documentation and reporting of experimental results.
• Ability to collaborate in a research or lab team environment.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience creating adhesive formulations for electronic applications in a lab setting.
• Execute designed experiments by preparing formulations and measuring key properties.
• Analyze and compile data from formulation testing to support product development decisions.
• Ensure compliance with lab safety guidelines and participate in 5S activities.
• Support digitalization by using Albert for lab data tracking and reporting.
• Collaborate with R&D team to contribute to innovation and improvement initiatives.
