Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a CEAS Automation Co-Op for the Spring House, PA location. This full-time, on-site six-month program runs January to June 2027, offering hands-on Python development, full-stack automation, device integration, robotics, and lab workflows with cross-functional teams.

You will contribute to transforming scheduling platforms into modular systems and gain exposure to software development, automation, and experimental design in a biotech setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at an accredited university.
• Pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Biomedical/Mechanical/Electrical engineering, Biology or related fields.
• Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• You must not have any Summer Internship contract or other employment commitment that could interfere with the contract dates specified for this position.
• Programming experience with Python is required.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn and work with software systems supporting laboratory automation and scientific workflows.

Responsibilities

• Transform existing scheduling platforms into modular, deployable systems for different lab configurations.
• Characterize laboratory workcells, including device configurations and workflow needs.
• Develop, configure, test, and validate software modules enabling instrument integration with automation systems.
• Configure scheduling logic for different instrument combinations and automated workflows.
• Test end-to-end automated workflows to ensure reliable system performance.
• Provide software, automation, and project support as needed.
