Job summary
Labcorp's Monogram lab in South San Francisco is seeking a Lab Automation Engineer II to lead automation system development, integration, and scripting for liquid handling instruments. Base in South San Francisco with a Monday–Friday schedule.
Requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering or life sciences and 2+ years in lab automation; Python/C programming experience is preferred. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits offered.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical) or in a Chemical/Biological Life Science or related field.
- 2+ years of experience with lab automation instruments in clinical, biotech or life sciences environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead development and integration of automation systems and related software tools.
- Prepare documentation for equipment validation and operating procedures.
- Develop scripts for liquid handling robots and lab automation instruments (Hamilton Microlab STARs).
- Collaborate with end users, lab supervisors, process owners and cross-functional teams to enable adoption across labs.
- Lead troubleshooting, analyze data, and drive key process decisions.
- Participate in on-call service for off-hours support.
