Job summary

Abbott is seeking an Automation Engineer I to join a cross-functional team including Systems Development, R&D, Operations and IT to develop and deploy robust laboratory automation solutions for pre-analytical sample processing, immunoassay, and sequencing-based assays in support of medical devices in an FDA-regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or related field.
• 1+ years of experience with automated liquid handlers in regulated environments.
• Experience with Hamilton devices is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop automated lab solutions using liquid handling robotics for FDA-regulated workflows.
• Participate in all software development lifecycle phases and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and document software and systems to ensure reliability and quality.
