Are you looking for a career as a Lab Associate? Join our team at Barnes Jewish Hospital to make a direct impact on patient care and operations. Float position. Home base is West Siteman Cancer Center lab, but will also float to South Siteman and South CAM building.

Job Details

• Full Time - 40 Hours Per Week, M-F, Rotating Weekends
• Day Shift: 7am-3:30pm

  • HS Diploma/GED
  • Phlebotomy experience strongly preferred

Overview

Performs non-blood and blood specimen collection, specimen handling/routine processing and clerical duties associated with specimen collection.

Role Purpose

Performs non-blood and blood specimen collection, specimen handling/routine processing and clerical duties associated with specimen collection.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy, positive patient identification, and positive patient interaction, proper collection and specimen integrity.
• Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times.
• Interacts with lab, clinical and other ancillary departments.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Experience: No Experience
• Supervisor Experience: No Experience
• Preferred Requirements: 2 years
• Supervisor Experience: 2 years

Licenses & Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Phlebotomy
