Additional Information About the Role

BJC HealthCare System is hiring a PRN Lab Associate I - Phlebotomy (multiple shifts) for MBMC Laboratory - Missouri Baptist Medical Center (3015 N Ballas Rd., St Louis,MO 63131).

Position Details:

  • PRN (as needed on multiple shifts – days, evenings, nights)
  • PRNs must work 2 shifts per pay period/ 2 Holidays per calendar year/ 2 On Call Weekends per calendar year
  • Inpatient Phlebotomy - Collecting blood samples from patients currently admitted to the hospital
  • Nursing, Med Tech, healthcare students welcome to apply

Experience:

  • 1 year of Phlebotomy experience (preferred but not required)

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Performs non-blood and blood specimen collection, specimen handling/routine processing and clerical duties associated with specimen collection.

Responsibilities

  • Perform phlebotomy, positive patient identification, and positive patient interaction, proper collection and specimen integrity.
  • Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times.
  • Interacts with lab, clinical and other ancillary departments.
