Job summary

Boone Hospital Center in the United States is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform non-blood and blood specimen collection, specimen handling/routine processing and associated clerical duties in a busy laboratory setting. The role is 28 hours per week, Monday through Friday, daytime hours from 9:00 a.m.

to 5:30 p.m. A High School Diploma or GED is required, and no prior experience or supervisory experience is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy with proper patient identification and sample integrity.

• Maintain safety as a core responsibility in a safety-sensitive role and complete other duties as assigned.

Overview

Job Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy, positive patient identification, and positive patient interaction, proper collection and specimen integrity.
• Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times.
• Interacts with lab, clinical and other ancillary departments.
• Boone Health has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
• Performs Other Responsibilities as Assigned.
