Job summary

TriNet Group seeks a highly organized Research Associate I to support drug discovery programs through compound management, sample preparation, and routine protein science activities in the San Francisco Bay Area.

You will receive, track, prepare, store, and distribute research materials, maintain traceable documentation, and assist with protein workflow tasks in a fast-paced, collaborative biotech setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or related scientific discipline.
• 0–2 years of relevant lab experience in biotech, pharma, or academic lab.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage and accurately track large numbers of samples.
• Comfortable with lab calculations involving concentrations, dilutions, and molarity.
• Experience with basic lab techniques including pipetting, buffer prep, weighing reagents, stock solution prep.
• Ability to follow established procedures and maintain documentation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across multiple teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced research environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory and tracking of research compounds and materials.
• Receive, document, label, store, and enter materials into systems.
• Prepare stock and working solutions and aliquots.
• Perform concentration/dilution calculations.
• Coordinate distribution of research materials and track usage.
• Monitor inventory and identify replenishment needs.
• Maintain freezer/refrigerator storage systems.
• Support sample requests, aliquoting, tracking, and distribution processes.
• Maintain material traceability and handling history.
