Job summary

Centerpoint Health - Paris is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to perform venipuncture and specimen collection, support order entry, and provide excellent patient and staff service. Qualifications

• Venipuncture and specimen collection per policy.
• Verify patient identity using two identifiers prior to all collections.
• Coordinate therapeutic drug-monitoring collections with nursing and lab teams.
• Maintain par levels and assist with weekly inventory of supplies.
• Respond to lab phones and provide customer service.

Responsibilities

• Review orders, quick-register patients, and enter tests per requisition.
• Obtain blood specimens via venipuncture, finger or heel stick.
• Label specimens with identifiers, date/time, and collector initials.
• Process specimens and distribute to appropriate lab sections or reference labs.
• Participate in performance improvement and required education.
