Job summary

Centerpoint Health - Winchester is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join our team on a PRN basis. You will review orders, register patients, and enter tests per requisition, ensuring patient verification and proper specimen labeling.

Responsibilities include blood collection by venipuncture or finger/heel sticks, processing specimens, and coordinating drug-monitoring collections with nursing. Prior phlebotomy experience is preferred; high school diploma required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Phlebotomy skills and specimen handling experience are valued.
• Ability to verify patient identity and manage sample labeling.

Responsibilities

• Review orders and register patients; enter tests per requisition.
• Collect blood and other specimens following policy.
• Label specimens with identifiers and date/time.
• Coordinate drug-monitoring collections with nursing.
• Process specimens and manage inventory as needed.
