Job description

Description: Performs basic laboratory procedures under the supervision of Registered Technologists and Technicians. Responsible for the collection of specimens for testing, including blood samples and urine drug screens. Works under the supervision of the Section Head or Laboratory Manager. The Laboratory Assistant will be required to travel to other sites off campus to provide phlebotomy services. The age range of patients is from newborn to geriatric.

Qualifications:

• Valid Driver's license.
• High school graduate or the equivalent.
• Training at an approved school for phlebotomy or as a medical assistant is preferred.
• Basic computer skills in a Windows environment.
• Ability to operate in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
