Job summary

Description:

Performs basic laboratory procedures under the supervision of Registered Technologists and Technicians. Responsible for collecting specimens for testing, including blood samples and urine drug screens. Works under the supervision of the Section Head or Laboratory Manager. The Laboratory Assistant may be required to travel to other sites off-campus to provide phlebotomy services. Patients range from newborn to geriatric.

Qualifications:
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Training at an approved school for phlebotomy or as a medical assistant is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills in a Windows environment.
  • Ability to operate comfortably in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
