Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Northside is seeking a Lab Assistant (PRN) in Columbus, Georgia. You will perform sample processing, screening, and venipunctures while supporting the clinical laboratory team in non-clinical tasks.

Education requires a GED or high school diploma; phlebotomy experience and CPT certification are preferred. This role is a PRN opportunity with no guaranteed hours, located at Piedmont Columbus Northside.

Qualifications

• Work experience: No experience required; 1 year phlebotomy preferred; EKGs preferred; healthcare or clinical lab experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests per CMS CLIA '88, OSHA and applicable standards.
• Performs venipunctures and prepares blood specimens per Piedmont policies.
• Assists technical staff with non-clinical tasks.

Responsibilities:

Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• No experience required Required
• 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist Preferred
• Experience in performing EKGs Preferred
• Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• None Required
• CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent agency Preferred
