Job summary

ArcWear, a division of Kinectrics AES, located in Louisville, KY, seeks a Lab Assistant to support textile and PPE testing. You will handle sample prep, tracking, and documentation to help ensure testing accuracy and lab efficiency in a professional environment.

This role offers hands-on experience in a dedicated textile/PPE testing lab, with opportunities to work on special projects, improve processes, and grow within laboratory operations and testing functions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of work experience in any professional environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to follow written procedures consistently.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, organize, track, and maintain textile and PPE samples prior to testing.
• Prepare fabric and garment specimens for testing by cutting, measuring, labeling, and organizing samples according to procedures.
• Condition samples under prescribed environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, wash/dry cycles).
• Verify sample quantities, configurations, and documentation before testing.
• Maintain an organized workflow and prep area; assist staff with projects and research support.
• Maintain records and specimen tracking; ensure sample IDs align with testing plans.
• Prepare tested samples for return shipment and coordinate sample movement within the lab.
