Job summary

Adventist Health Specialty Bakersfield seeks a per diem Phlebotomy Technician to collect blood specimens, handle and process samples, and support the laboratory workflow. You will perform registration-related tasks, assist with order entry, and ensure specimen integrity while adhering to privacy and safety regulations.

The role requires High School/GED with CA requirements, preference for an Associate/Technical degree, and CPTI/CPT/CPTII licensure as applicable.

Qualifications

Phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting (preferred).
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Ability to work with accuracy in specimen handling and labeling.

Responsibilities

Collects blood specimens and handles specimens for testing.
Completes pre-analytic and analytic workflow steps in the lab information system.
Maintains inventory and records, ensures specimen integrity and privacy.
Communicates results and routes reports to appropriate personnel.
Performs duties as assigned by the supervisor and supports quality tasks.
