Job summary

Responsibilities

• Reviews orders for various tests requested by the provider/physician.
• Obtains, receives, and processes specimens prior to testing.
• Utilizes sterile specimen handling techniques during handling, accessioning, and processing.
• Performs pre-analytical and analytical tasks according to established protocols.
• Prepares specimens for send out testing as needed.
• Performs duties of a phlebotomist as required.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory and safety standards.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Graduate of an approved medical assistant, EMT, or phlebotomy program
