Job summary

The Laboratory Assistant Phlebotomist at MultiCare Valley Hospital in Spokane Valley partners with a compassionate team to obtain blood samples, transport specimens and process them according to protocol. This role supports timely testing and patient care in a hospital setting.

You will perform venipunctures at various sites, label samples accurately and help maintain specimen workflows while covering call-outs and rotating shifts as needed to support patient care.

Qualifications

• Certification as Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist (MA-P) or eligible.
• Experience in a hospital setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure blood draws are collected timely and monitor workload-pending lists for specimen accountability.

FTE: 0.001_, Shift: Variable_, Schedule: This is an as needed position. Availability for covering call outs, PTO coverage, rotating weekends and ability to work variety of shifts. ( days, evenings, nights)

Shift Times:

• Mornings : 6:00am-4:30pm or 8:00am-4:30pm
• Evenings: 11:00am-9:30pm or 12pm-10:30pm
• Nights: 6:30pm-7:00am or 8:30pm-7:00am or 2:30am-11:00am.

Position Summary

The Laboratory Assistant Phlebotomist is an excellent opportunity at MultiCare, responsible for obtaining blood samples, transporting samples for medical testing, and processing specimens according to protocol and procedures. You will work together with the team to ensure the most comprehensive and compassionate care for patients.

Responsibilities

• You will perform venipunctures professionally and with skill at various sites and explain to patient the procedure
• You will ensure draws are collected in a timely manner and check all workload pending lists periodically for specimen accountability
• You will accurately label patient samples following hospital policy

Requirements

• Current Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist Certification (MA-P) or Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist eligible
• Experience in a hospital setting preferred

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $21.89 - $32.83 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
