Overview

Responsibilities

This role involves collecting samples for testing, including phlebotomy, venous and capillary punctures, and urine collections, adhering to scope of practice and regulatory standards.

Work Also Includes
  • Computer inquiry and data entry for patient demographics and test orders in compliance with guidelines.
  • Processing and preparing samples for testing and delivery to labs.
  • Guiding new employees/students on procedures and policies.
Work Requires
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Customer service excellence.
  • Knowledge of laboratory procedures, equipment, accessioning, and specimen requirements.
  • Proficiency in laboratory information systems.

Some tasks may require travel outside of the office.

Qualifications

Required: High School Diploma or GED, completion of a vocational phlebotomy course with internship or equivalent on-the-job training, and recent related lab experience. Certification requirements include:

  • Current Washington Medical Assistant certification, or
  • Within 60 days of hire, certification as a Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist in Washington.

Preferred: National registration with ASCP in Phlebotomy.

$22.31 - $30.99 per hour.
