Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Manager, the role involves coordinating clerical and nursing home functions, including scheduling, collecting samples from Nursing and Group Homes, managing offsite collection site staffing, computer registration, order entry, printing, charting, mailing, faxing, and filing reports. Responsibilities also encompass accessioning Pathology/Cytology specimens, answering telephones, ensuring accurate charges and billing, employee competency testing, reviewing and updating procedure manuals, training clerical staff, submitting charts to coders promptly, and reviewing nursing home monthly bills for accuracy. These duties reflect the principal functions of the job and are not an exhaustive list of all work requirements.
