Job summary

CHI Mercy Health in Roseburg, OR is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to help collect, prepare, and process patient specimens for a variety of tests using advanced technology and strict procedural standards.

You will perform venous and capillary draws, handle lab send-outs, conduct CLIA waived and moderately complex testing under direction, and maintain equipment, inventory, and records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• AHA BLS within 90 days required.
• Preferred: Lab Assistant/Phlebotomy certification.
• Preferred: Six (6) months acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Process, organize, and move samples for testing; handle all lab send-out testing including packaging.
• Perform venous and capillary punctures on all age groups, following collection procedures.
• Perform CLIA waived and moderately complex testing, evaluating results under direction.
• Perform routine maintenance, monitor inventory, stock supplies, and manage records.

As a Lab Assistant, you will play a crucial role in solving diagnostic mysteries, bringing us one step closer to effectively treating patient illnesses and injuries.

Every day you will utilize your expertise and our advanced technology to precisely collect, prepare, and process a diverse range of patient specimens (blood, urine, tissue, etc.) for various diagnostic tests.
