Scripps Health is seeking candidates to launch a clinical laboratory career in the Microbiology team at Scripps Medical Laboratory, a high-volume core lab handling millions of tests annually. This casual, per diem role offers exposure to a broad range of cases in a fast-paced setting.

Ideal applicants have strong analytical skills, good communication, and familiarity with medical terminology and computer systems; preferred experience includes microbiology lab work and a related Bachelor's degree.

Responsabilidades

• Assist the Clinical Lab Scientist in the preanalytical and analytical testing of samples.
• Proactively contribute to achieve team goals towards cost-effective, high quality patient care services.
• You are instrumental in impacting the workflow processes to identify areas of improvement.
• Answers phones and provides clerical support for the laboratory.
• Ensures performance and safety standards are met.
• Ensures inventory and supplies are stocked appropriately.
• Serves as a liaison for the laboratory and interacts with physicians, nurses and customers to provide a positive outcome.

Description

This is a per diem/casual, non-benefited position with varied shifts (start times vary from 6:30am, 11am and 3pm), including weekends. Training will be 3-5 days a week for the first few months. This position will not be working in a phlebotomy area and will not require the CPT or BLS.
