Job summary

CommonSpirit Medical Group - Family Medicine - Ringgold is seeking a Lab Assistant to support diagnostic testing and patient care. You will collect, prepare, and process a variety of specimens using our advanced technology, ensuring accurate results and compliance with procedures.

You will supervise lab assistant staff, assist with analyzers, record observations, and maintain cleanrooms and equipment. Preferred candidates have phlebotomy training and EMR experience.

Qualifications

• High school graduate with 4–6 years related experience.
• CPR certification required at hire.
• Phlebotomy training and CPT certification are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and guide lab assistant staff in completing tasks.
• Assist lab technicians with operation of analyzers.
• Record observations and measurements.
• Clean, disinfect and maintain cleanrooms and equipment.
• May perform minor repairs to laboratory apparatus.
• Assist with receipt and inspection of raw materials.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Lab Assistant at CommonSpirit Medical Group - Family Medicine - Ringgold, you will play a crucial role in solving diagnostic mysteries, bringing us one step closer to effectively treating patient illnesses and injuries.

Every day you will utilize your expertise and our advanced technology to precisely collect, prepare, and process a diverse range of patient specimens (blood, urine, tissue, etc.) for various diagnostic tests.

To be successful in this role, you will possess a foundational understanding of laboratory procedures, demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, and maintain an eager commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Job Requirements

Required

• High School Graduate General Studies and 4-6 years Related Experience, upon hire
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Preferred

• Graduate from accredited Phlebotomy training program preferred.
• 1-3 years 2 years Phlebotomist or Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Certificate Other Current/valid Certified Phlebotomy Technician certification preferred.
• Electronic Medial Records Experience Preferred.
