Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Lab Assistant for the Ringgold location. You will collect, prepare, and process a variety of patient specimens for diagnostic tests using our advanced systems.

This role requires a foundation in lab procedures, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development. Prior phlebotomy experience and CPR certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate General Studies required.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) required at hire.
• Graduate from accredited Phlebotomy training program preferred.
• 1–3 years Phlebotomist or Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Current Certified Phlebotomy Technician certification preferred.
• Electronic Medical Records experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and guide lab assistant staff in the completion of tasks.
• Assist lab technicians with operation of analyzers.
• Record observations and measurements.
• Clean, disinfect and maintain cleanrooms and equipment.
• May perform minor repairs to laboratory apparatus.
• Assist with receipt and inspection of raw materials.

As a Lab Assistant at CommonSpirit Medical Group - Family Medicine - Ringgold, you will play a crucial role in solving diagnostic mysteries, bringing us one step closer to effectively treating patient illnesses and injuries.

Job Requirements

Required

• High School Graduate General Studies and 4-6 years Related Experience, upon hire
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Preferred

• Graduate from accredited Phlebotomy training program preferred.
• 1-3 years 2 years Phlebotomist or Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Certificate Other Current/valid Certified Phlebotomy Technician certification preferred.
• Electronic Medial Records Experience Preferred.
